11 Exhibitions in 2024
Yes! this year i entered 11 exhibitions in order to introduce Euclay.
Some were juried exhibitions and was a finalist in all of them.
I soon took to create busts in Euclay to be entered into sculpture, 3D
categories.
Artificial intelligence was my inspiration for three pieces I entered into City of Belmont Art Award, Rockingham Castaways Small Sculpture, and Ellenbrook Art Award.
Sent another of my AI to a Gallery in Geelong.
They did not sell. I grow attached to my pieces and i quite enjoy to have the three of them in my private collection.
A Gallery manager told me "you have to make "pretty things" that is what people buy!
I have spent most of my life longing for time to dedicate myself solely to the creation of art.
Since retirement in 2013 that is what i have done. This does not mean no art before 2013, but had to keep a job and be a sole parent. However, i managed to do art within the constraints of my working life.
Nowadays i am so immersed in my arts practise which is what i longed-for for so many years that it is not the time to spend what time i have left creating what will sell.
It may happen that suddenly i create something considered beautiful by the large population and it sells well.
These days i just listen to my need for creation, my ideas, inspiration etc and that is what comes from my hands.
I have four busts in my gallery and i just love to look at them, they will be with me until someone sees them here in my studio and wants to have them or will become my inheritance to my son.
I just love to sit at home and look at all the works i have collected through the years. I see effort, time, emotion, love, inspiration and achievement with gratitude to life for being able to finally have time to do all i ever wanted to do.
My place is full of materials, supplies etc just waiting for me to pick them up and have a go.
I recently organised my house to a standard that would be acceptable for everyone to see.
I started opening my studio on weekends from 10 to 4.
Not many people stop even with a sign on the corner of the highway but i will keep on opening.
Today I had two ladies and I enjoyed so much showing them my works and tell the stories of some of my pieces.
